Founded in 2023, LGBTQ Book Love makes inclusive books freely available to readers of all ages. What began as a simple grassroots effort has grown into a movement powered by volunteers and donors.
How It All Began
Everyone deserves to see themselves in the books they read.
LGBTQ Book Love was started in July 2023 by a member of Real Mama Bears who was frustrated by the anti-LGBT legislation coming from the Ohio Statehouse. What began as a grassroots response has grown into a movement powered by volunteers, families, and donors who all share one belief: representation matters.
Since that time, we have delivered more than 1700 books to 33 Ohio counties. Each book placed is a reminder that LGBTQ+ stories belong in every community.

LGBTQ Book Love is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that distributes inclusive books across Ohio to ensure every reader can see themselves in the stories they read.
Where do books go ?
Books are shared through Little Free Libraries, LGBTQ+ organizations, community centers, Pride events, and directly with families across Ohio — wherever they are needed most.
Do you only accept new books?
No—while new books are wonderful, we also accept gently used books, ARCs, and author copies.
Are there any books you do not accept ?
We accept books for all ages in all genres but no erotica or “spicy” adult content.
How can I donate financially?

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. LGBTQ Book Love is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all donations are tax-deductible.

Do you provide books outside of Ohio?
Currently, our focus is on communities in Ohio, but as we grow, we hope to expand our reach.
